Pick guest up at Dong Hoi airport then depart to Phong Nha National Park by Eastern side of the Truong Son road. En route, we will pay a visit to Khe Gat Airfield Base then return to Khe Gat T-junction. The next we turn back on the Western side of Truong Son trail to have a look for Tra Ang crossroads. Tra Ang is the most important route during the Vietnam War. From 1964 to 1972, this place was considered as the bomb packages of US airplanes.
After visiting Tra Ang, we keep on going to Tam Co cave (the Eight Voluntary Youths cave) located in Victory Road 20.
Back to Phong Nha for overnight.
After breakfast, we drive to U Bo Peak (along Truong Son trail on the West). U Bo Peak is 1009 m high above the sea level. After visiting U Bo, we drive along the Road 11 to turn back East Truong Son Trail for seeing Long Dai Ferry. Vestiges of Long Dai ferry was considered as Coordinates of Death on Truong Son Trail where the US aircrafts dropped tons of bombs to crash stop the supplies from the North to the South during the Vietnam War.
Afterward, we keep on moving to Truong Son Martyrs’ Cemetery (Quang Tri Province). Truong Son Martyrs’ Cemetery located in the North of Ben Hai river – where there is brought together over 11 remains of dead people sacrificed on Truong Son trail.
